Air bag compatible seat covers for T5

I'm trying to track down a good set of seat covers for 2015 T5 front buckets.

I'm prepared to shell out for Black Duck, unfortunately they've said that their T5 seat covers are not air bag compatible. Willing to take any other recommendations of water proof/resistant covers up to the same value... $450! Very exxy but my seats get daily abuse. Even if anyone knows any universal covers that are a good fit for the T5 buckets?

Over on t5forum there is some discussion about T5 and T6 seats being the same, with the only difference being the head rests.

Here is a UK seller with the same product for T5 and T6 with the only difference being the head rests:

Confusingly, my head rests are definitely not the T5 size in this picture, they are pretty close to the T6 measurements:

    Can anyone confirm this?

It seems that I should be able to order the Black Duck T6 covers which are air bag compatible.

To follow up on this, I ended up taking an educated gamble on the air bag compatible Black Duck T6 covers. Luckily, they fit perfectly on my 2015 T5. They are not tested or certified for the T5 so the responsibility is yours .

Before purchasing, I researched the parts database for T5 and T6 seats and found most of the same part numbers, most importantly the part number for the airbag module inside the seat is the same. I also had a parts guy compare them and he only found a discrepancy for the "squab" (the bit you sit on) but that could just be a different fabric?

I also inspected a couple of T6's and was confident enough to put down the $500 (!!) after all that.

Very happy with them, will post a pic in the next few days.

Sorry to butt in one this one but as a motor trimmer for over 40 plus years the Squab is what you lean against and the Cushion is what you sit on .

Thanks for clearing that up, I'll know what to answer a trivia .

So it's the cushion that you sit on with a different part number as that's what the parts guy had on the screen.
