Question Aftermarket Spare Wheel Carrier for Gen 6 Multivan

    I have a 2016 Gen 6 Multivan - the two tone model.

It doesn't come with a spare wheel and I've already discovered the down side of this! No idea where the tyre repair kit has ended up (I bought it second hand) but I don't really trust them anyway.

I'm trying to work out if there are any aftermarket spare wheel carrier kits for this particular model but the only one I've found so far at KombiLife says it's only suitable for models that came with a spare.

I also understand the 18 inch wheels fitted to this model might present a problem in fitting a spare under the rear of the car where the spare wheel for other Multivan models is usually fitted.

Has anyone come across this problem and solved it please? Yes, I did search this part of the forum but couldn't find anything that answered this query (apologies in advance if there is something and I missed it).

For anyone else who finds this post and wants to know the answer, the good people at Kombi Life assisted me with a spare wheel carrier together with a 17 inch spare wheel and a tyre that has the same rolling diameter to match the stock 18 inch rims on the Gen 6. They have plenty of other good stuff (and helpful advice) for VW vans too, particularly if you're using yours for camping. Highly recommended if you can get to Campbelltown in Sydney or Burleigh Heads in Qld (or you can order their gear online).

Kombi Life are great to deal with and always helpful albeit a bit pricy on some items.

Agreed. Plenty of helpful advice for people new to the Multivan and using it for camping. I did raise my eyebrows at some of the pricing but where is cheap these days anyway?
