Wow. So is that hole present in the non-aero wipers on purpose so they can be fitted to the aero-arms? Or is this a total hack?
If those holes are there specifically for this type of situation, maybe it's OK? Then just get the proper aero arms next time using the P/N above

Well...I can't believe I've just spent almost $300 on front windscreen wipers !!!
But I can't endure that shuddering anymore - for me it seemed to start within a a couple of months of replacing the current standard blades with after market ones each time.
I also was unable to source the aero arms for a better price from os - can get the aero blades for $20 delivered - but not the arms - so thought I'd start with genuine blades and then compare them with the os after market blades down the track.
Price from FTG VW - I get no discounts - arms $95 each - blades $76
Thanks to all for the info and part numbers - without the numbers the spare parts guy had no idea what I was talking about.
Edit - inc gst...I hope

while it isn't VW - I have got great results from using the Bosch Aerotwin ones that I purchase from sparesbox.com.au
I've got them on the Crafter, Caravelle, our Rosa minibus and our Discovery. They're around $60 a pair and every time I change them I think "why didn't I do this sooner" !!

My original blades lasted nearly five years!
I ended up getting these as a straight replacement and they've been terrific so far.
(about 4 months now so I can't report on longevity yet)

Well all fitted and it was safe to assume the arms and blades are the same for the Multivan and Transporter
Now I just have to wait for it to rain again.
Yes...well...I must confess that I had missed your initial post in amongst all the enthusiasm for the aero arms and blades
I would have given them I try first.
In fact...in hindsight I probably should have tried a genuine vw set of the original blades first...because the shuddering I was repeatedly getting...may have always been due to using oem blades?
Oh well...at least it was a business expense...
