2nd Battery in the T6 Multivan

    G'day All,

Has anyone fitted a 2nd battery to the new T6?

Looking at using the TJM DC charger to run off the primary battery, but need to know what battery fits under the passenger seat.. Anyone done something similar, or have the dimension?

    Cheers

have a look on the T4 fourm, in the electrical section of the T5

i read that the largest they could fit was 110amp, the factory Aux battery is 80amp.

they had the sizes on there, can't remember of the top of my head.

I had the TJM IBS system in my Hilux, worked well, never let me down.

Second battery STD with the electric sliding doors............................ 12V/80AH 320mm long, 180mm wide, 190mm high with recessed. Bigger battery will most likely not fit. Battery has a flange at the base that bolts the battery down.

it was in the T5 FAQ in this fourm, i knew it was somewhere.

i've read that you can fit a 110amp with mods, might have been here or the T4 Fourm

It shouldn't be much different than adding the second battery into the T5 T5 FAQ and How to THREAD (up to August 2009).

I personally would use the REDARC DC-DC charger or the Projecta, which is currently on special at Repco for $330 and has also the input for solar panel.

I have a T6 Multivan with electric sliding doors but it didn't come standard with a 2nd battery. It's not yet an option on the Multivan but it is on the Transporter and I think it wasn't that expensive, so you might want to consider genuine VW while you're doing your investigations.

As always, the best time to put an option in the vehicle is while you're ordering a new one. To retrofit from the spare parts after you take the delivery is most likely going to be a very expensive exercise.

    That's a LOT more than I thought. I thought it was a $100-$200 option.
