    I'm using an Eclipse AVN726EA double din
    Not cheap, but I've always found Eclipse to be very good in the sound quality dept
    Blue tooth is almost perfect, but certainly good enough to be happy
    Sat nav is excellent, only downside is updates are around $130, and they take forever to come out
    Day time in the sun is readable
    At the time it was the best I could find without getting a second mortgage, but I'd hunt around more if I had to buy something now

    I installed a Kenwood about 12 months ago. The only problem I have is the AM radio doesn't work because there wasn't any way of connecting to the antenna. Otherwise the Bluetooth has been mostly great, although I can't get the voice commands working to my Blackberry, but the connection is rock solid, and the sound is fine with the standard speakers, as long as you don't want high end.
    I really like the Kenwood satnav, as it has Garmin software in it. I'm just about to attempt an upgrade, so we will see what happens then.

    Just to brag here , as I said earlier we have two chinese double din head units in our T5,s . Now my van is used for my business fitting sunroofs and servicing them onsite , so I do a load of driving during the week . Now I am a music freak if you are ever stopped next to me at the lights here in Brissie there is a good chance you will feel and hear my music in your own car !!!!. The unit,s installed have built in amp but its only very low powered its okay if you are just hooking it up to stock speakers .
    No brother not me 2 x 12 inch Pioneer subs behind drivers seat tucked neatly behind my commpressor 2x pioneer tweeters mounted into dash where the originals were plus 2 x 6.5 inch two ways in the doors , the front speakers have their own amp connected to the head units front RCA outputs and the subs to their own amp from the rear RCA outputs .I am also using Maxx Bass line driver for the extra ooomph . AM FM radio is okay but lacks a little reception strength CD DVD MP3 disc player spot on ,Bluetooth syncs with any phone for phone and music playback plus I was able to add an external mic for the phone as the unit has a built in mic which was too far from driving position .
    IGo GPS runs in the background regardless of what function you are using and as each command is given the map comes up on the screen plus TV tuner Aux inputs and touch screen . Howard { growing old disgracefully }

    Crikey, that's some serious stereo accessories there Sunny! Whilst I love my music, these days I am surrounded more by Playschool CD's in the car (with 3 kiddies 5 years and under and the 4th on the way!), so nothing flash needed, just plug and play!!
    It is amazing to hear what people are popping in though, and I am loving this forum. Going to have to head on a search through the forum chats this week to learn about roof racks which will be the next item to tackle...

    Kenwood new nav system

    I did forget to mention, that the guy that quoted me for the Alpine sat nav system said that the Kenwood was the only one that had the right tilt angles for the multivan, but they had had some problems with the units, so they were due to release a new version in about 1 month. Don't know if that helps anyone else looking and considering a Kenwood.

    Well for those that are interested, I have not managed to get the current model RCD510 to work in my 2006 Multivan with some help from a sympathetic mate and a CANBUS simulator.

    Now to order my RNS!

    I take it as you succeeded. Is there a fascia that will blend in the round corners of the RNS ?

    To answer the question regarding the head unit we have they came from a company called SZWaywell they are well known on the Golf threads . Since buying the units we have from them I have tried another couple of companies . My current favourite is a company called Easyrising here is the link to one of their VW units when you are looking make sure that the letters AU are after the model numbers as this indicates Australian maps and if fitted the correct DVB tv frequencies . I can tell you they are very good to deal with fast service once payment received the unit arrives within 5 or 6 working days . The Waywell units are also very good as I described but technology has changed so fast that we are going to update ours to these new ones from Easyrising . My son has a single din model in his T4 it has a slide out adjustable 7 inch screen , it is a great unit with touch screen operation and function change by just sliding your finger either across the screen or up or down to change settings just like an Iphone screen . Howard PS if you scroll down to the bottom of the info screen on the model I have sent the link for you can see that they also have CAN Bus adaptors as well . This is the one I am thinking of upgrading to it has the square corners to suit first model T5,s http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ES848AU-7...o%3D%26ps%3D63 I am not sure about the later T5 hole size is it square with round corners or is it a tapered unit wider at top than bottom .
