I am still to buy a headunit, but have bought a canbus simulator and will be testing a current model headunit and if that works was going to try to get a LED RNS510 from a Touareg.

But, if you don't off load yours, keep me in mind.

They are dealer removed. Mine has all of the connections, apart from one being spliced for a car kit which has some time been removed. A bit of solder should see that right.

SOLD! ... well, actually, just moved on. Stinky was quick!

Mikinoz, aren't some of the UK grey imports or the Chinese knockoffs straight plug and play, no fiddling with canbus or anything else?

I would actually prefer the unit that will allow the screen to be tilted, because of the bad angle of the T5's dash that makes many screens difficult to watch. I have the 7'' screen that is GPS and reverse cam on the top of the dash and despite the screen has a shield, it is still hard to see anything on it in Summer.

Kenwood makes the 6.5" unit with the Satnav that could be tilted the right way for our dash, but it is expensive.

Just so you know when you try to put it in the connectors on the radio and the ones in the car may be different, so if that is the case you might need a square block adaptor to fit it. Not hard to source, but might save you pulling out some hair.

Thanks for the tip. My brother in law is great with mechanical/ technical aspects so I will definitely be asking him to fit it for me! Less frustration all round!

Just a quikie here I have imported quite a few chinese units not only the ones I mentioned but quite a few for friends and relations , finding a double din one that tilts downwards in a 7inch is all but impossible to find . If you stay with a single din with a retracting 7 inch screen no problem as they can be set for whatever position you want . Yes the T5 radios are mounted high on the dash and sunlight is a real problem I made a very simple eyebrow shade for mine works a treat even in the middle of the day and looks quite good . Howard

In my old T5 I had a Pioneer AVIC BT900.
Dont get one. The bluetooth is hit and miss. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.
The screen is nearly impossible to see when the sun is on it. Compared to the RNS510, which you can read the screen when the sun is directly on it.
With the Pioneer, you will need to buy the CAN adaptor.
The GPS function on the Pioneer ****s all over the RNS510. That is the only good thing on the Pioneer.
