Did you drop the sump cover off as there is a filter inside ? , our T5 tiptronic also failed after VW serviced it . They did not bother to remove the sump , inside is a filter that in our case was already partially blocked . When they replaced the $65 a litre fluid all they did was remove a bolt at the sump and then refill at another bolt at the top . So when the beautiful clean $65 a litre fluid was put inside it first mixed with the lovely sludge laying in the bottom of the sump , then as it circulated through all the various components it then flushed out loads more crap and then it completely blocked the filter which then caused the clutches to burn out as no fluid was getting around the internals no drive just a revving engine . One of the places I contacted here in Brisbane told me that some VW dealers here were sending the auto boxes to Melbourne for refurbishment . I also heard from someone else that the components being fitted by that company were not that good so it will pay to ask around for recommended repairers to ensure a reliable repair is done . The place that did ours was sort of okay but I would not recommend them as they took an eternity to do the job and admitted they could have done better as ours still is a little bit lumpy on odd occasions when it changes gears . I have since found another place that is more experienced with the Tiptronic autos again here in Brissie . Good luck .
