Agreed. Didn't know there was an english version of it.

I carry a hard copy of the Amarok one in the van with me, for those who want additional electrickery.

    2005 Multivan Electrical problem?

On starting the engine after a quick stop today, I noticed the dash lights, indicators, A/C fan and window operation were not working. Stereo was still working surprisingly. After I got home, once the engine had cooled, I started the van again and everything was working fine. This problem has happened before, however after turning the engine off for maybe a minute, everything worked again last time.

I should add that the A/C does not work. It was also reasonably hot today.

Can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be please?

It needs a scan otherwise you're just guessing. Assuming that you had a recall fro the el. wiring done on it.

Thanks for the reply Transporter. We had the recall 97W8 which was for the harness for the cooling fan. Apart from that, I have no knowledge of the recall you are talking about. Do you have any more info on it please?

This fault has been mentioned on the forum many times before, and is thought to be a logic fault in the controller firmware that VW has never fixed. Take a look at this thread for example, look for my 3rd post under brianj down the first page.

    Here is the main text:
"I turned off the ignition, removed the keys, then opened the drivers door and then manually locked the doors then unlocked them, then closed the drivers door. I then put the keys back in and turned on the ignition, and the aircon light was now working."

Thanks for the info Brian. This time, turning the ignition off and locking and unlocking the doors didn't right the problem unlike the first time it happened. Looks like it's off for a scan...

Try reseating and checking the fuses under the battery in the motor compartment, I mentioned this earlier in that same thread.
Let us know what they find.
