This workshop were recommended by a VW specialist as he could not fit the van in at that time . They are engine rebuild only specialists so missing the split is a gross oversight .I will be asking some pretty hard questions on Tuesday without letting them know how I fixed it to ascertain if they actually looked for a vacuum problem as it is the main control of these turbos . I also found the heat shield with the vacuum line attached resting on the turbo casing how long would that have lasted until it melted through , I just bent it back to where it should have been .

Well I can now add more complaints to this workshops work , we have had the van back for a week and because of the way it was driving before I found the split hose it has not been driven more than ten kilometres . Today I noticed the passengers side door was dropped , it was really hard to get it to close as it was sitting 4 or 5 mm below the body seam . So after trying to align the door I noticed it was contacting the sill at the door opening at the bottom , I laid down under than van and noticed this pack of idiots have obviously tried to lift the van on a hoist under the door sills . There were upward dents to the underside of the sill and some scrape marks in the same area much the same on the drivers side as well . So it looks like they will have some serious explaining to do on Tuesday morning , if an amicable explanation and some sort of refund is not offered I will take these idiots to small claims .
