2003 T4 Transporter info

Hi Guys
Am looking at a secondhand 2003 T4 2.5 diesel manual FWD van with 200,000ks coming up
. Wondering if someone would be able to tell me if that year model had DPF fitted?
What year did the DPF fitment start?
Any notoriety associated with this model ?

No DPF on the T4 model.
Clutch pedal box may be broken but generally a good vehicle. Usual checks apply,get someone familiar with T4s to take a look.

Good Buy.

Get it ! I have owned and used a 2.5 for 7 years now. Pedal box goes but is an easy to weld fix.
Once done it will never go again.

Try for the Silver I ACV code engine with 102 bhp as standard.

Mine is now running 170bhp and has been for 6 years. she loves it !

Things to look out for -

Very stiff clutch = pressure plate
A little white smoke on startup is normal for these, but too much and the timing might be out. No big deal.

These engines have been seen with 800K miles on them - you cant go wrong with a good's which most of them are.

In OZ, we didn't get different coloured Is. In the later diesel format[TDI] we could only buy the ACV or AUF engines, no 1.9 diesels either.
