2002 Transporter crash repairer in Melbourne.
Are any of the members in Melbourne able to give me some advice on crash repairers, or more specific, in the northwest - Essendon and surrounds? Although, if I have to, I guess I could get it towed to ???????? anywhere!
Have just had an accident. The damage is the panels forward of the front doors only, and of course all the lights, bumper, grill, etc. Because of the way I was hit, the engine has not been damaged and neither have the wheels / steering. Amazing how much damage can be done by just being clipped at the front (passenger side) corner.
Unfortunately, it is deemed to be my fault (was in my blind spot). My vehicle is not covered by insurance. What are my chances of having at least some of these repairs done by utilising second hand parts? (My resources are few.)

Best bet is to source some second hand parts via Ebay and do as much as you can yourself .Most panel beaters are not out to make friends just make money so if resources are sparce then DIY is cheapest as long as there is no major damage to mounting points it should be okay Does it still drive ? I had a minor collision some years back in my old T4 and the repairs were $12000 so it was written off . How about a couple of pictures its easier to judge from them .

Easier said than done.
Thanks sunny, but this septuagenarian grandmother can't even visualise what needs to be done. DIY is so far out of the question, I can't even reach it.
Got the tow truck to take me home, and I drove it the last 50 mtrs or so, into my garage. Yeah, it runs fine.

Sorry for the stupid mistake about ability etc naturally I would not expect you to be able to do it based on the information you have given . I would now hope some of our southern members may be able to point you to someone who can help at a reasonable cost , good luck .
