2001 T4 Transporter conversion
Hi all,
This is my first post here so nice to meet you all.
I recently picked up my first Transporter, an '01 2.0l with 165k on the clock. I love it, very tidy body and most things are up to scratch. I do however want to make a few upgrades starting with the interior.
At the moment she is pretty bare. I want to line with insulation and then cover with some trim.
QUESTIONS:
Has anyone else done this yet, what did you use?
Does anyone have enough left over to sell to do another van?
Is anyone interested in going halves?
Are there better materials than I have found below? (there has to be I'm sure!)
Products I'm looking at are:
Sisalation 1350mm x 22.25m Foam Cell Shed Liner | Bunnings Warehouse

Welcome to the club T4's are a great van , I had two of them and my son had one as well . Check out this link for a T5 I did for a friend who rides Moto Cross , principles are the same but personally I would not use the Bunnings stuff . As a motor trimmer with over 50 plus years of experience behind me I have done dozens of different vehicles including a few T4's and T5's . In every vehicle over the 50 years I have always used the same products for sound and heat etc , the product is perfect for gluing to the inner walls and the off cuts can be used to pack out the awkwrd spots. Then the marine grade hull liner is used to cover the side walls due to its flex capabilities , then I always used commercial grade carpet for the floors as its as tough as hell and is easy to fit . I use a company called Nolans UDA in each capitol city they have the sound proofing material and the wall liner materials Insulating T5 "Another wet weekend and someone is getting a makeover"
This was my sons T4 real eye catching interior . One down one to go . And finally our current T5.1 showing the conversion I have done .New T5 Project Sorry to bombard you with so many but it will help with ideas to do a succesful job .

This is great! Thanks for writing back so fast. I try to avoid Bunnings because I know it’s not always the best/correct product for the job. I’ll work through the links you posted also!
I’ll post the work in prog when I get around to it!
