Perhaps look at an OEM brand like Textar.
Hi all.. I have a 2000 T4 2.5 petrol AET. LUCAS calipers.
VIN WV1ZZZ70Z1H033980.
I bought a new set of FRONT brake pads recently and fitted them. Now the pads clunk under braking only once going forward then will do it if you reverse.
I'm fairly mechanical minded and can service my brakes.
The pads are DB1349. I CAN even see slight gap in the pads where the ends meet the calipers.
Now I bought a second set of DB1349 thinking just a cheap copies and back to back are identical. 😭
I haven't bought the indicator wear type as the wire is looped. Doesn't bother me having an indicator as I change myself and regular service my brakes.
ARE there anyone out there with these LUCAS calipers who have had a Certain BRAND OF DB1349 that have fitted with no clunk after fitting?
Perhaps look at an OEM brand like Textar.

Bump.
Suggest you contact the manufacturer and see what they can do to fix their undersized pads.
Should there be a u-shaped shim in the groove?
