    2.5 4motion 160k service

I'm booked in for a service this Thursday.

I'm having the drive coupling checked as they weren't replace at 150K.
Is there anything else you would recommend getting done/checked?

Looking through my service records the Haldex oil was changed at 120K
Should any other transmission oil be changed?

    Thanks BR

I do all gear oils at least every 40,000km and haldex oil every 60,000km, however VW dealer will most likely tell you that they are the lifetime fills.

I changed the alternator bearings, although for yours the dealer would probably only supply a full new or exchange unit,
the bearings were worn in mine and I didn't feel like putting it back like it was, also had air cond. service, all was done
right on 150k. Might be worth asking and make sure fuel filter (plus others) was / is done.

    Thanks Guys.
I'm getting the van service at a VW garage not the dealers, should have probably said it's a 2006.
Fuel filter was change at 120K, 7/11 - this OK?
Transporter - any chance you can list 'all gear oils' please, make sure I cover everything.

    Cheers BR

It's all in this sticky thread T5 FAQ and How to THREAD (up to August 2009).

There was a Penrite oil even for bevel gearbox many years ago, but the oil manufacturers are often changing their recommendation, so be careful when choosing the oil for any application.

I'm using Penrite gear oil in rear diff with no ill affect (not in Haldex). Also make sure that the Haldex filter is changed every 60,000km. I also change coolant in mine every 3 years.

Thanks Transporter, I'm tempted to do the gear oils myself.
There is no mention of a Haldex Filter on the Invoice, only Haldex Oil. Perhaps this should be done too.
    Thanks again BR
