17" steel rims

has anyone had their 17" wheels widened. the UK forums show plenty with rears up to 10" and 9's on the front. some of them look quite good, but the cops here would crucify you with different size rims. was thinking of 8's all round, but not sure on the offset?

I would have them all the same for practicality more than looks, but I am getting old.

Have you seen the 4 motion on banded 16" with off road tyres?

yes, the black one looks good. the way they stretch those tyres onto 10" rims, you'd have to worry about the tyre popping off the bead if it starts to deflate
