Had my 2006 auto rebuilt by A&B in Dandenong over twelve months ago
They came highly recommended, and so far auto runs like a dream
Told them I'd bring it back after twelve months for a check and oil change, which by then had done another 55,000 ks
They changed the oil exept for what was left in the converter, checked everything they could and said everything was like new inside
Normally charge $250 for that service, I think they liked my smile and only hit me for 200
I get the impression that place is run under exacting specs, and don't cut corners
So I'm puzzled why the cost others are finding of $50 per litre for the oil
Personally I'd much prefer someone with good experience fiddling with my $$VW$$, cos I'd probably stuff something up
Just find it curious that a specialised auto repair place can keep the oil cost more sane

Any chance you can ask them what oil they used and let us all know. If these guys are doing it for a living they should have a good idea on whats required oil wise.
