    02 t4 lowering springs

    Hi All

Can anybody recommend a set of lowered springs (40mm approx) that are available here in Aus? Or am i better off importing some? I have seen some threads on the Brickwerks site, any feedback would be appreciated.

I got my rears reset by Pedders 2 and a half inches and wound the front down to match. It was cheap and still gives me excellent load carrying capabilities and is fine when towing a trailer. I have a T4 TDI.

    Golf Loon,

Can you give us a link to the spares place you called Pedders?

It would be nice to look at after market prices.

H&R kit #29429-1 will lower the rear axle 40mm. Front axle is lowered by adjusting the oe torsion bars. It's all fine but if you plan to carry the load and tow a trailer, I would think about lowering it twice. Also, before lowering check the condition of your original shock absorbers. A while ago we did a few of the T4's and the only upgrade shocks were available were Koni reds. Worth doing the job right first time to avoid disapointment..

I dont think you could deal with em online. They are a tyre chain, like Kwik Fit in the UK.

They simply reset my factory springs to a new height. I had to remove em and refit.

Perhaps contact Eibach. My T4 Caravelle has Eibach springs on the rear - which lowered it slightly (I don't know by how much exactly). The springs were purchased by the first owner (I am the second owner). According to the receipt, $500 back in about 2001.

    Cheers,

I got mine done by Aurora here in Adelaide. 40mm lower. Cost me $220 from memory.
Try Kings Springs, or just look under spring manufacturers in the yellow pages.

It's easy enough to drop a rear spring out anl leave it with someone for a day so that they can measure and replicate it with the same spring rate so as to lose as little ride quality as possible.

    lowering springs

Thanks Guys for all your info, Bug Racer has a set of springs that i have bought, so hopefully in a few weeks i'll have a van sitting a little lower to the ground. Then its time for a new set of wheels. Has anybody got a set or know of a set of 17" 5 spoke Bora wheels for sale? Also curious of the load rating on them? just for insurance purposes. I'm hoping being factory wheels there rating is heavier than a lot of the aftermarket wheels available.

    Would Bora wheels fit?

    They dont in the UK

Thought they were 110x5 pcd and the T4 is 112x5 pcd.

Audi, Bentley, Merc wheels are the same pcd

    Bentley wheels on my Caravelle.

    Audi wheels on my caravelle

    Hope this info helps Rob
