    My Caddy Build

Hi guys, Only new to the forum and thought i would put up a post of the first stage of the conversion i am doing to her.
I fabricated a set of drawers that fit into the back of my long wheel base and have cut a piece of foam that is the same size as the back. I am in the process of making a kitchenette that comes out of the side drawer and i have a roll out awning really easily that i attach to the roof racks when i go away for the weekend. I have bought a ten t that i can clip into the awning for when i don't need to use the car but in all honesty i don't know how much i will use it.
Bought a Hayman Reese style tow bar and fitted it myself and also fitted the module into the wiring harness. All up i did the towbar for under 400 bux with the module.

I bought the car second hand from the original owner with really low k's and not even a mark or car park dint. He fitted the Audi rims and fat tyres and am slowly fitting it out the way i want it.

    Looking good..!
Good amount of depth on that drawer there.

How much are you planning on towing with the car, and where did you source your tow bar + electrics from..?

    Thanks

Got the Tow Bar from Aranda Tow Bars in Brisbane. They manufactured them and are really well built. You can purchase the module from them as well and if you want the wiring.
The only pain was running the main power wire from the engine bay to the rear of the car. While was doing that i also ran a larger auxillary wire for accessories in the back like a fridge etc.

    Hi ozcaddy

Do you find that you can still open the rear barn doors when there's a trailer coupled to the towball?

Probably not fmflex but having a level trailer is probably more important to me.
I have twin sliders so it's still easy to access everything in the back.
If i flipped the tongue i probably could but it wouldn't be as safe to tow as i sometimes tow my boat up to 200k's away and regularly tow it 50 k's away to one of my fishing spots.
I'm not sure on the euro style ones but the price they want for them is ridiculous so i didn't bother after getting a few quotes.

    Drawers

    Hi Johnny,
What did you need to know about the drawers?
I made them myself out of 20x20 Gal SHS
Rollers i just bought 60 skateboard wheel bearings from China for 26 bux delivered and made the runners myself.
each carrier has 2 bearings and there is 2 bearings on the slide that is attached to the drawer on each side.
Has 12mm Ply on top and rubber matting on top of that.
Locks were only cheap FleaBay items.
It has dampened the noise considerably so now i only have to fit insulation to the inner guards, walls, inner door panels and roof.
