I have twin sliders so it's still easy to access everything in the back.
If i flipped the tongue i probably could but it wouldn't be as safe to tow as i sometimes tow my boat up to 200k's away and regularly tow it 50 k's away to one of my fishing spots.
I'm not sure on the euro style ones but the price they want for them is ridiculous so i didn't bother after getting a few quotes.
Fair enough mate, thanks for confirming. You've got the same issue I have. When I first had the towbar fitted (Hayman Reece number) the hitch sat 2 1/2" lower than where it now sits which is about the same height as yours. Stock as a rock I couldn't back into my driveway which is a 9degree incline so I got pissed and had it cut and rewelded higher and thus voiding m useless warranty on the towbar.

If you don't mind me hijacking your thread a bit I'll post up a couple of pictures of my drawer setup. I contemplated building them out of 2mm gal sheet but in the end couldn't spare the time so had a set made to suit and installed.

cool, i was going to make mine higher too but it took into consideration the mattress thickness and decided that there wouldn't be enough head room when we sleep in it.
Everything i need fits into the drawers and the kitchenette for the side drawer and is nearly finished.

Pics of my drawer setup and the false floor that bolts over the rear seat when folded down. Also a pic of the wing panels over the wheel arches.

My caddy's got the 1.9TDI in her with a Viezu diesel performance tune. As to extra weight, I've never actually had to weigh her but with the rear seat, drawers and all my tools and equipment I'm happily say ~400kg mark.

She pulls along quiet nicely, doesn't even feel like driving a van at all. Use a sprint booster and darting and weaving through traffic is so effortless. I use about 0.5L more per 100km with the tune. I had to go back to stock for 4 months while I had a protracted warranty argument with VW over an accelerator pedal issue and the difference was noticeable. I couldn't wait to get the tune dropped back in.
