Regarding legality, I thought any modification for aesthetics in qld was illegal. I'm down in vic myself though the rear end of my air bag setup came from qld with the axle requiring the flip in order to have the clearance to hold the airbag.
Hi all,
I am pretty keen to lower my caddy but because I have the newer tsi and don't have a leaf pack I can't just get the pack reset. The kits you buy with the diff flip seem to be the only option. It is illegal in qld isn't it ? Is there any safety issues ?
Cheers

Anyone found an Aussie seller for the diff flip kit?
Maybe, PM me
Darkside has a kit for this application. Any one used it ?
Fmflex, does the caddy still feel solid with your flip ?
Solid in what way?
Mine's bagged all round so may not be a fair comparison. But to compare to my previous setup of pedders mk5 golf lowered front struts and springs and the rear leaf spring reset it rides heaps nicer. Mine's a trade vehicle so carries a fair amount of weight.
So mk5 golf front struts same as mk3 2005 caddy?
Yes they're interchangable
On the legality, you have to make sure that you have a minimum ground clearance at any point under the vehicle after the change. Also, you have to have a minimum bump stop clearance. There is also clearance to bodywork that has to be considered. Lastly, you have to make sure that the front and rear are lowered the same amount, otherwise this changes the castor angle and this can affect high speed steering stability.
