Does your GPS have a 'sleep' mode?
Hi guys,
I'm a courier so have a GPS plugged in all the time. When I lock the van overnight it is still powered by the cigarette lighter. This will cause a flat battery when the battery gets a bit old so I need to remember to unplug it every day.
I've heard there's a way to turn this "feature" off. Does anybody know how? I have a 2014 Caddy.
Thanks.

yes I wondered the same thing and hoping to find an answer here but no luck.
My Polo GTI is the same. I really like it because I can charge your phone/iPad without having to leave the ignition on when I'm stopped. Also the GPS doesn't turn off every time I get out of the car like it does in other cars. My son drove the car once and left the GPS plugged in. It took about 4 days to flatten the battery as I recall.
2001 Bora 4 Motion Sport now used by number two son
2011 Skoda Octavia Scout now with Underground Performance tune
2010 Jetta 125 tdi dsg for the misses - Impressed
2006 Polo GTI - Enhanced by some of Gav's magic - Absolutely loving it
Sorry, but I've been otherwise occupied for a while.
If you search through the messages from me, you will see a solution to this. I have done it to my MY11 Caddy Maxi Life.
It involves the use of two Add-A-Circuit assemblies and gives power to the lighter under the radio only when the ignition is on.
This is a link to the thread
How to have the lighter/accessory sockets turn off
Hope this helps.
It is a little easier to follow with a drawing So here is one I prepared earlier

Hope this makes things a little easier.
Wow! You don't muck around.
Saved it.
Thanks again.
