    2012 Edition 30 - MFSW

Does anyone know if I can retro fit a 2012 Scirocco MFSW to my new Edition 30 Caddy. If so where is the best place to source one. Also would the flappy paddles work?

You will probably need to install the appropriate steering wheel electrics module as well.

There's a number of Tiguan owners that have retrofitted steering wheels (myself included). Anything from Golf 6 (R/Scirocco) will fit a Tiguan - you'd have to check if Caddy is similar but would have thought so.

Most of us did this to add DSG flappy paddles (Tiguan already has MFSW). If you just have a basic steering wheel without any buttons then as Umai Naa said, you'll likely need the steering wheel control module (SWCM) to get everything working. If you already have steering wheel buttons but just want to add the DSG paddles then if you're lucky when you fit the steering wheel you'll just need to select the option in VCDS to add the paddles and everything will work (as long as you SWCM supports the paddles).

Depending on the shape of your wheel you may/may not need to buy the airbag also. Sometimes you can source steering wheels with the right airbag (recommended) and this will usually work out cheaper as you won't be paying freight twice.

Most of us just picked up the steering wheels off ebay. Something like this would work: VW Rline Scirocco Golf 5 6 Passat cc polo steering wheel MLf paddles dsg | eBay

but then you'd need to source the airbag separately: VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 6 2010 DRIVER AIRBAG IN BLACK WITH SINGLE PLUG | eBay

There's a write-up/thread over in the Tiguan forum: Flappy paddles steering wheel in Tiguan.

    Good luck!

SOrry I can't give you any definite answers, I put a mk5 MFSW into my '06 Caddy and that required a new steering wheel controller unit
But when I put a GTI steering wheel with flappy paddles into my '10 Maxi Life (which already had MFSW) it didn't need a new controller. You just need a computer to 'enable' the paddles. Best mod, changes the whole feel of the car!

You'll need a new steering column electronic switch, new airbag and new airbag loom.

    getting back to this.

if I buy this wheel to install on my caddy..

what SWCM am I looking for? and how do I know it'll be compatible?

Currently my Steering wheel does not have any button controls, so this is one of the main reasons why I want to install this.

If my current wheel has the buttons and my new wheel has them too (no paddles on either), is there any coding necessary?

I am selling a 3 mth old Tiguan MFSW with buttons as I upgraded mine to one with paddle shift. Not sure if you will have to replace the airbag but definitely the SW module and possibly the wiring harness and interface

Have you completed this mod yet?
I would like your help if you don't mind with all the parts needed etc.

I've done it on my ed30 caddy.

Going to sell it so will be parting the whole car out.
