Cambelt with a change interval of 200K for both engines.
VW Australia may have other intervals determined due to our climate being classed as Hot Weather by Volkswagen.
See the service department to get an idea.
Sorry guys I have searched high and low for this and no luck. I placed an order for a
TDI340 Amarok today and the dealers response to that question was "Amarok's use both chain and belt drive engines"

And it will cost $1500 labour and $300 parts for 3 hour job
I am looking at a 2012 Amarok with 114,144 km on the clock. The dealer claims it has had its timing belt done - which raises questions.
Given the cost, why would you replace a timing belt early? Could it have failed, leading to other damage that may or may not have been fixed? I would have preferred they replaced the clutch!

MY12 Amarok 120TDI
Belt change interval is 105,000kms, or 7 years.
