The problem is that most if not all of the "4x4" shops do not understand the TSI, I have a VW specialist that very quickly realized/already knew it was just an Amarok body with a MK6 GTI engine and has treated it as such for the last 10 years. No issues with any maintenance etc ever. You essentially have to deal with Amarok body issues and then deal with 2.0TSI engines separately and those "4x4" shops who mostly could not find 1 end of a petrol engine from the other, just don't get it.

In reality, the TSI is more powerful and lighter on fuel in day-to-day use than a normal TDI and can actually overtake like/better a V6 diesel on the highway ....

It's a pity you had to resort to settling for less, big developments in the Amarok TSI world on the horizon, I just need the time to dedicate to the project, working full time AND other projects makes it hard Perhaps it would be good to focus on 1 at a time LOL

Wow. Lighter on fuel than a TDI. Amazing.
I'm getting 8.5L/100 in hilly terrain (Bathurst/Sofala/Capertree Valley and some 4wd through Gardens of Stone) with 4 people and a ute load of camping gear. But that was a 6 spd manual with the VW V6.
And accelerate faster than a V6?. Hmmm. Better speak to my wife about that. 3rd gear and she just smokes everything else off from the lights. On the open road that V6 is like sitting in a black hole. It just seems to suck everything in that's in front of it.
