265x65R17 is only 10mm wider than standard, I’m not certain but I believe factory rims are plus 35mm so plus 30 will bring your tyre and wheel 5mm further away from the chassis making a wider footprint. It will easily fit without any lift. If you have the standard bumper and not a bullbar, it may very slightly rubber at the front of the wheel arch on full uptravel of suspension when 4wdriving, but not so much as to cause an issue, more that you could see a mark on the plastic inner arch.

Thanks for getting back to me, sorry for the delay in responding, I was away and couldn't log in this week. A little more info, I have the Aldo factory rims on at present, they are +49 17x8j, the new rims are +30 17x8j. Also have a standard bumper, everything else is stock, just roll bars, nudge bars etc. fitted. I am pretty sure a like for like 245/65/r17 tyre swap would fit without any issue so its good to know if the slightly larger tyre would fit without rubbing. I do pretty much 90% on road with only the remainder being light offroad, country lanes etc. Do you think going from +49 to +30 with the 10mm wider tyre would cause any rubbing on full lock in the arch during normal driving conditions? Just would love a slightly more aggressive look without the added expense of modifying suspension. Thanks again for your advice.

If you are correct and standard rims are +49 and your new rims are +30 then you are taking the whole wheel 19mm closer to the chassis, 10mm wider tyre brings the inside edge 5mm closer and the outside edge 5mm further away.
I know that 265x65 R18 fits without any suspension modifications, doesn’t rub but looks snug. I can only presume that the 17” would also as it’s slightly smaller. However I have had a bullbar on since new and the factory tyres were 255x60 R18 so only a small upgrade also. I don’t see any reason that it would not work on your vehicle. Around the bottom of the drivers door you should find tyre size information for all 4 tyre options that are available for you car. You can legally go to the widest and tallest option without any problems, most people go at least 1 size larger without issues. But not completely legal.
