High oil level

My 580 is displaying a high oil level warning on startup. Oil level is low if anything, below half.
Does this warning need clearing as its obviously wrong? Don't feel like going through the dealer run around though.

You will have a sensor in the sump which measures both oil temperature and oil level. This sensor (or wiring leading to the sensor) must be playing up on your car - not super common but it does happen.
