Remove mudguard screws. They are a 6 point.
The front mounting hole needs to be redrilled. 293mm centres. Measure from bolt hole nearest windscreen.
Check brackets for alignment. Do not tighten.
The lifting bracket comes in two pieces.
When the top and bottom go together, they look like this...
Not like this. Note gap top left.
Mark a diagonal cut from the front of the lower bracket to about halfway.
I've cut mine at 30mm along bottom edge. It's halfway.
Weld the top and bottom halves together, then cut. It's easier to do this as one unit. The top edge or lifting plate is full length. The bottom bracket is the one that has collision issues.
Grind off any rough edges, particularly along the top, as the install is 'metal on metal'.
A quick spray of mat black spray paint and you're set to go.
Finished brackets. Top bracket is full length, bottom bracket is now half length (30mm).

Part 2. Install.
Undo top bonnet hinge bolt and attach bracket.
Remove the foam blocks. If possible, cut the blocks so that the struts can lay in them. Removing the blocks will cause whistling. I got around this issue by cutting a couple of chunks out of some furniture foam. It seals the joints.
With foam block removed you now have cavity access for the strut.
Lay your trusty torch in here and check for clearance
Lower bonnet carefully and check for collision.
Fit ball to bracket out of the car. Eliminates scratches.
Snap fittings on
Place cartridge end of strut at top.
Raise bonnet by hand, then with strut attached at both ends to brackets, gently lower bonnet until lower bracket holes are aligned. When aligned, insert screws into the lower bracket and tighten.
