Amarok Oil pressure light

I’ve recently bought a Amarok 2012 model, had the oil pressure light come on so took it to the mechanic and they did a service, replaced oil, filter and sensor which fixed the problem for about 2 weeks, but had the light come back on. At first intermittently but now quite often. Took it back to the same mechanic no codes coming up and they did a manual pressure check and pressure is fine, they want to now drop the oil pan and inspect in there but are asking a lot of money to do so. Anyone has a similar problem for any idea as to what to do?

Hi and welcome. Id be checking the oil pickup next which requires removal of the sump to view.

Presuming you have one of the earlier 4 cylinder Amaroks, do you have a petrol or diesel version? If its a petrol version, then blocked oil pickups are somewhat common on that engine.
