Hi All,
I'm having problems with my fuel gauge.
I have a 2016 4-cylinder, manual High Line, with about 65,000km on the clock. Mostly bitumen Kms. Used for occasional towing and country travel, it's my 2nd vehicle, so it can sometimes sit about for a few weeks in a garage not being used. I mostly try to keep the fuel tank full, or near full.

Last week, I drove 6hrs to Dubbo, all OK. Filled up the next day and was driving out of Dubbo for the return trip home, when I noticed the fuel gauge was in the red and the warning light was 'on'. I pulled over, no fuel leak. Over the next 3 hrs it slowly came up to where it should have been and seemed OK for the remainder of the trip home. Next day I filled up and it behaved normally.

Yesterday, a week later, I jumped in, and the fuel gauge was at bottom of red band with no light 'on'. It stayed dead all day with multiple stop / starts.

If it just stayed at the bottom with the red light 'on', I'd be thinking the float is knackered or some other problem with the sender. But no red warning light is a twist.

Any suggestions of what/where to look before I take it to a dealer.

Thank you.
Piper
