Haven't had to use any spray yet. Managed to drive it out of limp mode twice just by, well, ignoring it. However, bought the $30 can of Pennrite DPF cleaning foam just for emergencies and shoved that and an open ended spanner (to remove that top exhaust temp sensor) all into one of the door pockets for emergency stop overs. The oven cleaner has to be applied at room temp.
With VGA running I see that the soot levels drop to ~10% after an active regen so haven't had to lay a spanner to it...yet. I just got a bit nervous after being laid up on an unsceduled stop in a country town when my car and trailer were booked on a ferry two days later.
So now I have my Amarok survival kit. DPF foam cleaner, 22mm spanner, VGA DPF and my trusted Autel 319 trouble code diagnostic/eraser that doesn't need a phone, internet, wifi, batteries or even a network adapter. Throw in a wallet and a toothbrush and call me McGyver!

Have you considered having your dpf umm fall off? And have a tune put on your car?

    i) not yet. It's a covid purchase that has only seen it's first service.
ii)tune? Not really. I'm getting 8.5L/100 klms with four people and gear. Doesn't need it.

Should be about every 300-350km's on the V6 Amarok between DPF regens (assuming the previous regen was not interrupted part way though, in which case it will be less than 300-350km's).

Have you had the car checked out? Something seems off as its using a lot more diesel that it should be. My diesel SQ5 gets about 7L on the freeway and we average 9.5L around town with a stage 1 tune and I make sure I use the power the engine has regularly.

As mentioned in my previous post, the V6 Amarok's do a DPF regen about every 300-350km's so if you are doing them much more often than that then something is wrong. The overfuelling issue will be blocking your DPF up much more quickly than normal. See if you can get the car put back to the stock tune and see if the issue corrects itself because I think you will find that it will.

Not yet, might go see the guy who put the tune on it, but its probably not the issue. its a alientech tune, so they send the file to someone in brissy, he tweaks it, then sends back. i imagine, the low load cells arent even touched, its just the higher load cells that are tweaked to give the higher power output.

The wifes RR with th twin turbo Lion V6 221kw gets 7.6lt/100 around town and 5.8 on the highway..

TBH im restoring an old RS Turbo wagon. soon as i get it registered, ill be selling the rok. wifes got a range rover we can tow with now, so dont need the ute.

Currently looking at buying a 2022 Amarok V6 manual and I have a question about the DPF.

Has the DPF issue been rectified in the 2022 year model? Does anyone here on the forum have one for sale?

    Thanks

The only way to fish the dpf issues is to delete it.
