Amarok - Auxiliary Coolant Pump "B" - Fault Code P261A

    Hey guys,

My 2011 Amarok 2.0 threw a code on Saturday and after stopping at the nearest mechanics he advised:

    - 4875-P261A
    - Google seach shows "Auxiliary Cooling Pump B".

I can't find a lot of information on this particular problem for an "Amarok" but there is mention on various forums about a "Bosch" alternative to the genuine VW part.

My mechanic has called around and the genuine part is going to take 2 weeks to get here. I'm supposed to be driving from Adelaide to Melbourne this Friday for the AFL GF.

Does anybody know if Bosch do make this part and what the part number is?

    Thanks,

    James.

    Thanks for the advice!

Called them and unfortunately they are out of stock in both the brands they carry.

I think i might have sourced one from a wreckers but i'm not 100% sure it is the correct item.

Does anyone know if this pump is located near the battery?

Yeah, it's high up, on the Amarok.

Whether it's near the battery or not, my memory fails me.

So i took a punt and bought it any way because he only wanted $120 for it. Turned out to be the right one so mechanic has installed in and we are good to go!

Got the part 4pm Monday, dropped the car off with the part 6pm Monday. Get a text message on Tuesday 10:30am and it's all done. Can't believe it, now i can stop stressing!

Looks like i will be able to make the GF this weekend after all!

Thanks for your help Umai Naa!!

Just experienced a similar issue, got away without replacing the pump by opening it up and clearing some rust/debris that was jamming the impeller. Something to note is that aux pump B is the one one lower down on the right hand side of the vehicle, NOT the more conveniently located one higher up near the battery. Hope this helps someone
