    Amarok literature

    I note that the VW international site has the Amarok brochure. It is a biggy at around 18MB but extensive

    http://www.volkswagen-commercial-veh...2010-08_en.pdf

    What is interesting is:
    - the limited difference in trim and equipment between the three trim versions - all quite extensive!;
    - the pricing structure in Euros (basic from ~29K [AU$41K], Trendline from ~32.7K [AU$46.2K], Highline from ~35.3K [AU$49.9K]) which I reckon is...not very cheap.....given that these start prices will likely be the 2wd versions!!! Summary > Trim lines > Amarok > Models > Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ;
    - the different suspension capacities (comfort/heavy duty) and what versions they are available on; and
    - the back seat arrangement (the bases can be folded up!!).

    With respect to pricing....a 2WD Toyota Hilux SR Dual Cab TDi is around AU$33K...

    the quoted pricing structure in Euros (basic from ~29K, Trendline from ~32.7K, Highline from ~35.3K ) includes VAT so take roughly 20% off those prices and you have (basic from ~23.2K, Trendline from ~26.2K, Highline from ~28.3K ) so in Oz dollars that's (basic from ~32.8K, Trendline from ~37K, Highline from ~40K ) Summary > Trim lines > Amarok > Models > Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles..........that's not bad for the 2wd versions

    Seano, the 2wd version isn't due for release until 3rd qtr 2011 so I would say that is for the dual cab 4 motion vehicles, which would basically put it on par with the info we've been given from VAg that each susequent model will undercut Hilux by approx $5k. (Factoring aus taxes and crap).

    Well, if you want to knock the king off the throne, especially with the mentality of Hilux owners who think they are far superior to everything and anyone else, then the best way to hit them is in the hip pocket.

    If those prices are actually for the 4motion version (especially the dual range version of it) then I would indeed be interested in the Amarok.

    Around 40K for a Trendline 4Motion with hi-cap suspension is probably a reasonable ask since you have to spend almost another 20k to get in a dual cab Transporter with similar specs.

    Now if only someone would do an alloy tray for the Amarok....that's the last hurdle for us.
