    2015 Amarok coolant leak

Hey all. My Amarok has sprung a random coolant leak (pretty bad) after a relatively short drive today. I can see roughly where the leak is *see image Imgur: The magic of the Internet

But I cannot get into the area to see properly without pulling apart half of the hoses in the engine. Before I do that has anyone had a similar issue? Thanks

Can't quite tell from the pic but is that a 2.0L engine? If so, might be the EGR cooler. They are a known problem and there was a recall on them.

Yeah it's a 2.0l I don't think it's from the egr cooler because it's on the other side of the engine just near the dipstick.

Update: I ran the engine and put the heater and air conditioner to full to try and get some extra coolant flowing. The engines temps sat between 50 and 60 so coolant is running but the leak has mysteriously stopped...

From research this is a common problem and there is lots of info on the replacement of the cooler. Is there any info on the bleeding once the cooler has been replaced?

Hi, my 2014 amarok 2L has the same leak, kind of intermittent like you said but still quite bad. Can you please provide an update? ive got 1 mechanic quoting my $900 to replace the engine oil filter bowl housing .. i had a look in there but it looks like a tough job anyway, quote is probably pretty accurate. thanks
