    19” tyres discussion/options

I just wonder what 19”tyres are Amarok drivers fitting to their rides? Obviously, the 19” tyre is not ideal for any heavy off road work, but it’s more than sufficient for causal beach drive.

I’m very happy with the Coopers on our Tiguan and considering them for the Amarok.

So, what tyres did you fit to your Rok? ...and why?

I’m gonna go the size up in the pirelli atr+ scorpions...

They are a great onroad type and performed well on Fraser for me.

How bad is road noise from the Scorpions compared to the road tyres your Amarok came on?
I’d like to get the quietest tyres possible in 19” for on road and only casual light off road work, since I intend to put off road tyres on 18” rims my Amarok came on or go even down the size or 2 and use still rims.

She came with them. Love the scorpions that much that I put them on the missus suv.

Can’t fault them dry or wet or for noise. And like I said performed on Fraser... although going to go up a size next time to be a little wider and get a bit more of a balloon when dropping pressures for sand.

Did yours come on 19” Pirelli STRs ?
The STR+ have completely different tread pattern and much improved rubber composition, though I think they might be bit noisier than STR were.

Mine came on the original str.

I’ve always run coopers on Tojo’s as they seem to have always been quieter than anything else when I’m sitting beside other cars on the M1.

But I always found the coopers a little too loose in the wet, didn’t bother me until I started a family.
