All i can say, is it's filthy and impractical.
But i'm not the kind of bloke who wished i had that sort of thing.
To each their own.

Peugeot 306 XTDT 1.9 Turbo Intercooled Diesel
1976 LS parts vehicle
Used to have: Mk1 Swallowtail LS DIESEL!
Cars are artforms to look at just as much as to driveHence why certain shapes becomes classics. A Kia Rio is a wallowing pile of **** to drive just as it is to look at; at least a Mk1 Golf showcar can have some aesthetic appeal, whether or not the dynamics are flawed as a result

You finished yet Stu?
West coast road is calling!![]()
It was supposed to be ready by this weekendI've now been told to expect it home by next weekend. Unsurprisingly, there's been niggling problems with the wiring... the electrician has had to do things like measure resistance on the donor fuel tank at empty and full and do the same to a Mk1 sender to make sure it will read accurate fuel loads on the SEAT dash. Also had to splice in a universal brake pedal switch after modding the steering column... just lots of rubbish like this.
I had even gone to the bother of incorporating the factory alarm system, which has now been going off flat out due to so many wires for the door switches being tampered with and spliced and whatnot since it's been away from home!!! This should sort itself out, though.
Also had to change my brakeline setup to have the brakes engineered. Not allowed to use Scirocco proportioning valves as they're designed for a different vehicle...despite the chassis being much the same!?! After everything, I thought the engine and gearbox swap would cause me the most approval grief, but it's apparently not even important compared to having the brakes, electrical conversion, dashswap (wtf?!?!) and fuel system approved.
I'm told my fuel pump is also too close to the ground, so have a nice little system underway for this now too.
At the end of the day, I could have had it ready ages ago, but I'm obsessed with everything being perfect before the 1st drive as I don't want to be disappointed after 2 and half years worth of work and the fortnightly drinking of my paypacket and leftover mortgage money! lol! Don't want hassles from Mr Plod either, so have plenty of paperwork to ram in his face should the need arise!!!
Don't really mind waiting, though, as at least I know things have been checked and done properly beyond what I'm capable of doing at home, with my limited knowledge and equipment etc.
But yeah, west coast is totally calling!!!!!!!![]()

PhwoarAny more pics? That's a beast of a mk1.
Great looking golfwagen, rear wheels are far too much tho ,but it only needs to be driven to the show and shine sections.....very carefully
True, true words. I remember when the original Range Rover was an exhibit in the Louvre in Paris. The same shape was still selling hot in 1994, 24 years later.Originally Posted by Valver.
