    you know you drive a mk1 when theres more tools in the boot than in your workshop

    you know you drive a mk1 when you have 3 others in equivalent parts around the place

    you know you drive a mk1 when the noise of your tools hitting the sides of your boot is normal for you, scary for your passengers

    you know you drive a mk1 diesel when your driving along in 5th (with a 4+E) and you go for 6th!!!! (done it many times, twice today already).

    you know you drive a mk1 when the big money stereo eventually gets pulled out in favour of nothing at all.

    you know you drive a mk1 diesel when people think your an idiot at the fuel station

    you know you drive a mk1 diesel when your idling at the lights and people look for the truck that isnt there

    you know you drive a mk1 when you go to sleep pissed off at it but wake up in love again

    You know you drive a mk1 (swallowtail) when the single strut on the bootlid isn't enough, and you have to cut a tomato stake the right size to keep it up!

    you know you drive a mk1 when you can't see what speed your doing at night
    {no dash lights}
    you know you drive a mk1 when the person your teaching to drive puts it in first gear at 90km by mistake
