You know you're driving a Mk1 Diesel when the police pull you over and tell you that you were doing 108... And deep down you're really impressed.
You know you're driving a Mk1 Diesel when you wake the Neighbours trying to warm the engine before leaving early in the morning.
You know you're driving a Mk1 Diesel when you spend the majority of your time holding your foot flat to the floor.
You know you're driving a Mk1 when you see stupid looking Commodores and Falcons going past you, and you catch them on the corners with ease.
You know you drive a Mk1 when you can drive from Port Macquarie to Gosford and back on one tank. :D
You better take it easy for a while me young lad - Youv'e only had your p's a couple of months and already you've got infinitely more fines than I have had since I started driving 10 years ago.
You know you drive a mk1 when you find that the main engine mount rubber has de-laminated from the steel insert, but you had just figured all the extra vibration you'd been putting up with for weeks was something you should get used to :-)
You know you drive a diesel mk1 when you realise that the best way to drive it is slowly so you can smile in pride at everyone overtaking you.

When after installing a new rear screen seal with chrome insert you still cant feel the end of your thumbs 1 week later.

When you realise that the 6x4 trailer you just repainted is now worth more than your car...
You know you drive a mk1 when you lose weight due to using it as a daily driver...
