Okay so the Nats came and went but I had a epic 4 days leading up to the Nats, including a tow truck ride

Will post the pics up tonight or tomorrow got photos on 2 cameras and left the other one at home today

The mk1 is pretty much finished and I'm not really going to do anything besides modify the sump to allow me to to scrape the fark out of it.

At the moment its sitting 3 fingers off the ground and if people know the M4 well then I scraped the sump on the M4 on the way to the Nats yesterday so thats how low, shes freakin low!

The epic last 4 days has really put me down with this car and I pretty much have given up on it until yesterday when I got heaps of comments about it so it made me smile.

Anyway I will post up a massive heap up soon but for now a pic that someone else took

OK so I said I was going to update this thread a bit so heres a really long one with heaps of piccies.

Its about a months worth of photos so bare with me lol.



Control arm bushings were changed to new ones and so I thought I would take a pic of underneath the car and was surprised to see no rust at all



Rear engine mount had seen better days changed that too but didn't get enough time to change the sides will do that soon enough I reckon.



William has been a big help with my car giving me a hand when he can.



Smoke repeaters WTF, these are really bright!

Then I looked inside and thought the interior could do alot better!
It was looking fairly tired and could use abit of new fabric.







All these items were stripped and taken to a upholsterer to get redone, he was able to match then but can't find a pic of it for some reason.



My dog was always there to lend a hand even if she only just sat there.

Then was off to Loons to get some work done.

New bearings
New GTI steering wheel
And a GTI Centre console









Ripping it out was fairly easy actually. The previous night before I had ripped out the condensor and air con pipes that just sat in the engine bay and did nothing.

A few more pics of the car stripped and some new items.



Cleaned her up and put her back together, they aren't connected and no one of are working at the moment. One day I will get it all working but for the time being its a cool little console and I can put stuff in the console part which I couldn't before lol.

I also redid the wipers as they were showing there age and looking tired too!

Then thursday disaster struck, first off, when we were putting the coilovers in and getting it right, button up everything and then went to take off and it wouldn't move!

Me and william were scratching our heads for 2 hours thinking wtf could it be.



Boot ripped and out came the driveshaft, all we could hear it do was spin like it was trying to engage.



So off to Matts and got a new one, unknowing to us when we fitted it, it stuck out way to much it was a scirrocco driveshaft lol.



And then Friday 1PM disaster struck in EPIC preportion!!!



Test driving the car wheel fell off, scrape, scrape, scrape!

Tow truck later and off to Matts for a new hub was GOOOOOONE!

Have to thank Matthew and Shannon and Camden GTI for there tireless effort in pulling a all nighter Friday night to get her up and running.

New hub and new driveshaft later she was fixed

I don't have any more photos after this but I will try and get some more this weekend.

After the weekend I had of epic preportion I'm over it! But somehow I still love it!

Got a few more things that I have in mind but other than that shes done and finished

Haha he was a good towy actually was good to talk to unlike some that I know that are quite arrogant!
