Merry Christmas to you all and hope you have a great time with Family and Friends.
Unfortunately we can’t share videos on here but started the old girl yesterday and it was an amazing sound. Sounds like I do have a small issue I need to figure out and it sounds like it could be either timing or a fuelling issue.
Will have a play around a little bit later today to figure it out.
But I’m just glad she starts and she runs much smoother at idle, starts a bit easier, and she revs much easier.

I had my old man around yesterday and he did his trade test way back when on the old Mk1’s. And he showed me what I did wrong trying to do the timing and also what I did wrong trying to fix it.
There is a bit more to it than just lining up the mark etc. As the fuel pump needs to be set on injector one for the pump timing to be adjusted correctly etc.
Once we redid the timing we started her up and she was running really rough. Found that she was only getting fuel on I1 and I4, and I2 and I3 wasn’t supplying fuel.
Put everything back together today and had to fix a minor coolant leak which seems to be good now. I started her and let her idle to get some temp into her and then revved her up and kept leaving her to idle a little bit and then revved her up again etc.
Then all of a sudden heard the idle change and she revved a little easier. Checked injectors again and I2 was now online as well, but still struggled with I3.
Decided to take her for a drive and chose a spot away from main roads that had some up and down sections, and she struggled a bit. But on my way back to the house doing the same up and down section back, there was a sudden, cough, splatter and chug with a cloud of smoke behind me and when I stepped on the throttle she pulled much better and ran MUCH smoother. But found out my throttle cable has a problem as she gets stuck sometimes.
But, looks like I might be able to try sneak her to work(the workshop I work at) and try do some other things extra to her where I have access to a hoist and pretty much any tool you can think off.
And have some access to try and tidy up some of the new stuff I had made by sandblasting and painting etc.
But hopefully not to long from now and I’d be able to use her as a daily.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, AND MAY 2021 BE A YEAR YOU OWN AND DOMINATE.

Also, if anyone has a passenger grill bit that goes around the headlight, I’m interested. Before I really have go and dig deep.

Been a little quite lately, as work has been very busy, but have managed to do a couple of things. I managed to get the headlights wired in, wheel alignment do e, got new wheels and put some good tyres on it.
Still to do, fit rear bumper, install new rear view mirror with built in dash cam and also a reverse camera. I have to pull the drive shafts and repair a couple of CV boots, but while I have them out, I’m going to do a full service on the CV’s.
I’m also doing a good clean under neath the car for rego inspection reasons. As I think I have managed to repair all oil leaks, but have to still clean it up so I can see if there is any more.
But the cleaning is also for me making sure there is nothing bad hiding it any nooks and cranies.
Will post pictures tomorrow of what I have done of late.
