Choice of a sports car to restore? Depends on how masochistic you are and what you want to use it for.
I'm biased towards the Triumph TR's. A 3A if you want a Sunday cruiser or a TR6 (if you can find one a TR5 would be better) for more fun.

One block from my house is a group of little workshops.
Another (1st one fell through) 190m2 workshop (not counting the upstairs office) just up for sale and I talked to the owner who is ready to sell. It's currently some kind of plumbing place.
If anyone is needing a free place to work with a lift, help with a particular repair, a special tool or a cold beer then PM me!
I will need some stuff.....
Anyone have suggestions on where to get some car hoists, an air compressor, workbenches, vise, etc etc used or new?
The other thing I need is a project vehicle (open to suggestions for sports cars) and a Ute. Did the VW Ute make it to Australia? I've always wanted one of those. Anyone have one for sale?

Hoist are really cheap these days, especially if they are ex-workshop, just watch 3 phase vs single, you can convert but it isn't worth it (and they will be slow) Gumtree is the best place to start if you don't want to bother with the clearance Auctions
(I know some in Vic, but that isn't any good to you.)
Very envious of the space, I missed the boat here, should have bought years ago before the developers got all greedy, I live in a warehouse conversion but these days they put 4 units in the space of my shell, made the mistake of not putting 4 car spaces in when I built! I rent a workshop
Caddys are rare here, and premium prices, but Amarok
Project vehicle is what ever floats your boat, Most things have gone through the roof on the back of world prosperity - 2 years ago I was going to buy an Interceptor, there were 5 decent ones (needing work but not a lot) around $30k, now you can't even get a wreck for that and one of the exact same cars that was $25k is on carsales for $55k - great investment for two years! World wise demand... And don't ask about the W111 I was bidding on at Shannons LHD went double estimate and 3 times last sale price - straight to the US
What is an Interceptor? Sounds like you found a workshop to rent. I tried to find one to rent and just decided to buy. We are meeting about the deal this week. Can't wait.
I honestly don't like newer VW's. If I can't find a VW oldie then I will score one of those crazy Utes with the l6 turbo or V8's. THey look like fun and you can't get them in America. I owned an Australian Import in the States called the Pontiac GTO with a 5.7 manual. Not sure what they were called in Australia.
Much cooler cars here!
Jensen Interceptor
But you can say the same for any oil cooled porker, chrome bumpers went 10 years ago, now Carrera 2.7/3.0/3.2 and 964 are also through the roof
Yep I share with a couple of other guys all doing our track cars
