    Wiring for early GTI system

So I just got this engine from an early GLI cabrio and it has no wiring loom with it. It does not need an ECU and has minimal connections needed, was just hoping one of you guys can tell me how to hook it up.

May end up junking the full electronic system from the jetta and using this one.

Yeh, I used to make looms for K-jet.
Make sure that you get the correct fuel pump relay.

I have a complete early K Jet loom from my Scirocco which I would swap for a good un butched LS or GLS loom.

I`m up for that swop, I`ve got a few looms. I`ll check tomorrow how straight they are.

Although you have just reminded me that I should have an early Audi 80 loom, which is prob the same.

Yeah didn`t think of that till I got home with this motor, but its probably the shot, as its simple and the airbox is smaller.

It still needs a couple of wires though doesnt it?

I want to get her going by the weekend if possible for the cruise.

    only electronic ignition.
Use early type fuel metering unit (Saab ones are a go) without the need for any electronic adjustment, and a simple vac adv type dist.
