    thanks guys. the carb im putting in doesnt have anywhere for the auto choke wire to go, just figure i dont need it i guess, unless you guys have any ideas.....?

    Ha Ha Ha ! Both my golfs were GLDs, that's why I've never seen this resistive wiring loom. Should have remembered that one sooner especially as I mentioned it above.

    Depending on what carb you're installing it may not need any electrical connections. For example some Weber conversions have a manual choke and no anti-dieseling valve.

    Neither did a lot of the '76s! Points were changed weekly until the recall.

    yep thats it. it has no need for electrical inputs. it is a weber from a 2L Escort. well if anyone has seen or heard of a wiring sort of deal, let me know.
