    Wipers Solution?

As we all know well by now, mk1 wipers are crap, if they even work.
Has anyone successfully replaced the wiper motor/mechanism from a newer dub or got any ideas to get some proper wiper action?

    Cheers

search vwvortex, there's a few threads on using a Mk3 wiper motor.

Have done the swap to the mechanism, just needs fitting the unit to the car now.
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,

actually i've found that they work fine with appropriate voltage!

if you install a relay to supply full voltage on the fast speed setting and about 11 volts for the normal speed setting you should see a huge improvement.

i agree, last night in the rain i was thinking how effective they were for a 35 year old car.

i put new wiper baldes on, i have a good condition wiper motor and all the dash fan venting works well when the fan is on...was surprised to see how quickly everything cleared up...also got the rear dimister working like a treat which is a rarity in MK1's.

    I agree with gldgti.

Without good voltage even you swap a Mk3 wiper motor it won't work. I've tried the swap but wiper was still slow
