    Who is that with a mallet under my bonnet!

    So replaced the throttle cable on Blue Loo today been sitting for a week ,take off up the road witha loud thumping as the speed increase so did the thumping pulled over checked to see no one had un done wheel nuts or something stupid.Thinking it could be time for CV's???Took the car up to a dead end street and flicked a bitch both left end right slowly round and round listening for thumping or growling but nothing and now the cars not making a noise?

    Check your tyres. I suspect you may have a large nail or screw in one which wore down enough by the time you'd reached the little street. That, or you left a spanner under the bonnet and it fell out as you were driving....hence no more noise.

    Yeah Naaaah mate it sounded lke somone was belting the left hand underside of the bonnet with a rubber mallet with force and it shook the whole car as if a wheel was seriously out of balance then kinda went away
    Took it for another drive this afternoon fine under acceleration but whenn backing off gets a slight vibration and there is a dry bearing whurring kind of noise all the time
