Price seems good and a few lads on the UK Mk1 forums recommend them.
Pete.
If anyone can let me know if there is a place where you can purchase a complete exhaust (from DP to rear muffler) in Australia for a MK1 GTI I'd be interested in hearing from you.
Standard spec preferably, not some OTT set up!
Cheers.

Wouldn't it be easier to get an exhaust shop to fab one up? Might be a bit more expensive exercise if you're after a mandrel bent system for a nicer look, however you could get it made to OEM spec, or slightly deviate from the OEM without going OTT.
For reference on price. I payed $250 for my DP to rear muffler system in mild steel. SS doubles that price though.
I'd be really interested to know if things like an exhaust was available in Aus for a Mk1.
Suss motorsport-tools.com for an Ashley system dude. I deal with them all the time and they're great blokes. The full system isn't on there website, but it is available. I have Ashley extractors sitting in the garage and they look good quality for the money I payed.
Gary Colis over at Wolfsburg Automotive had a lot of the components.
We were also able to get rear and centre sections for a late MK1 cabrio from Tooleys which should be the same.

Following this with interest, as I'm keen to learn what you decide to do in the end.
My GTI will need replacement of exhaust components at some time (since I haven't done anything to it for some time, it will probably be soon) and your experience will help me make decision when I need to.
Curious about your reasons for a standard system. I will probably do the same - my reason would be to clean up the hotch-potch of bore and steel combinations.
