Dismantled...
The sunroof mechanism: removed it all and gave everything a good clean. The trim is currently being stuck back on to the inner lining thingy. That'll be done by next weekend then the whole shooting match can go back in. Hopefully i'll then have a tilt and slide roof as opposed to just a slightly tilty one.
The exhaust: took the back box off in readiness for re-welding of the second (dummy) tailpipe, which will hopefully cure some of the excess noise.
The horn: found one of the wires was loose so dismantled the steering wheel, put new clamps on the wires and replaced the double sided tape on the inside of the wheel centre.
The engine: tweaked the idle speed. Nearer 1000rpm than 600 now. Much better.
Weight reduction: removed the amp and a pair of 6x9s from the boot, taking off around 10kgs I reckon. Rear strut brace will go back in once I can find some nice rubber rings to cushion it a bit.
Next weekend: putting it all back together and booking the roadworthy for first weekend in July
There is no Golf in my life. This is unacceptable...
