I replaced my door handles and hooked up the reverse lights. Trying to build up the motivation to attempt replacing outer CV boots. Baby steps.

    Replaced rear main seal.

    Cleaned clutch assembly.

Got new gearbox bolted up to motor.

Cleaned and re-packed a CV ('cos I dropped it in the dirt!)

I'll pop it all back together again tomorrow.

bit more sanding and fiddling in the beige today, another coat of rust stuff, need another trip to the hardware joint for kill rust next i reckon (or por-15 if only they bloody sold it near me) the rust stuff ive got isnt too bad but seems a bit light on, anyway,
so spent some time fixing a few little things and some paint on someone elses yellow mk1,
then decided to so a little sanding and chuck some polish on a vr manifold.

    still needs more sanding though.
mmm, coffee n bikkies, sanding can wait lol

    Posts being deleted....NO WAY

I wouldn't use anything but POR-15, Dom. If you have no luck tracking it down up north, just send an email to or call the Australian Distributor and they will let you know of the your nearest stockist
