What cars have the same water pump?

    Hello,

I want to replace my water pump and would like to grab one from pickapart/center road wreckers. What models have suitable water pumps? Seats? Audis? later model golfs?

    I have a mk 1 diesel.

    Cheers

cos i get excited about junkyards, its a problem and im seeking help.

also, i want a bigger radiator for my TD project. What are some cars that have a larger radiator that will fit the Mk1? I checked out an Audi 80 radiator and it looked like it would fit, im not sure if its much larger but it has the second belt driven fan

Slightly taller rad's can be made to fit using step down brackets on the lower mounts. just have to watch the oil filter as it can get very tight down there.

I've also got a twin fan setup from and audi 80 i'm wrecking, that I'm planning on fitting to my diesel (1.5 NA). Most of the time, I find it runs pretty cool, so I don't think I need greater cooling constantly, just when the temps do go up, It'd be nice to have twin fans to pull through lots of air, and get the temp down quick smart. Again, not something I've had an issue with, but something I'll look at upgrading regardless.

I used Mk 3 tdi radiators, same height and a lot wider, yhey take up the whole of the radiatoe opening and the hoses need altering a little. I used to have 7 of these, new, but am down to my my last one which I am holding onto until I get some direction in my life!! LOL
A normal Mk3 rad would be a good fiy I reckon. Am wrcking one at the moment so I must check it out

I squeezed a Cordoba one into my Mk1 using drop down brackets.

Currently I'm running MK2 radiators in both.

Mk1 Cabrio or Mk2 radiators are the same height and much wider.
I carry both brand new for under $200.

Mk3 and Cordoba ones are a bit tall, but you can modify your way around it.

I used an Audi 80 one with twin fans in my 16v project and it was good.

The main concern fitting a wider radiator in the diesel is clearing the alternator. If you go wider, the radiator will need to be tucked under the bonnet support panel, ie, moved forward. I'll give a audi 80 radiator a measure up, there seems to be heaps of them at the self serve wreckers atm
