    What 5 speed close ratio box will bolt to a 1600 8v?

    Trying to find out What 5 speed close ratio box will bolt to a 1600 8v? For my project.

    Any of the 020 series of gearboxes will bolt up. (So will the later 02A/J etc boxes but they generally aren't close ratio)

    There's a list of the codes here 020 GEAR RATIOS

    Close ratio boxes are the ones with the 2.118 second gear.



    There's a more comprehensive list with more codes here Transmissions

    Now you just have to pick the close ratio box with the diffratio that suits your needs.

    3.94 is about the lowest in a stock box ( fast accelleration)

    3.67 is about the highest (highway economy)
