Removal of the seats and rear carpet was straight forward and are now drying. But I can't work out how to remove the front centre console to release the front carpet. I have removed the five screws but it's stuck under the knee bar. The lower parts of the console have two metal tie rods held by black plastic buttons. Do I remove these or remove the knee bar ?

Remove the screw from the front, then a couple of screws from the sides, the strenghtening bars can stay on the centre console. Then undo two bolts feom one side of the knee bar, so it lifts slightly, then the console should come out witha bit of jiggery pokery. The knee bar bolts are up inside the footwell by the lever for the bonnet release.
Its a bit of a pain, but persevere mate it will come out
